My Mini American Eskimo named Merlin has taken a liking to hunting birds. I don't mean little birds in the yard, I mean pheasants in the country.  Cheesy My hubby has always wanted a hunting dog and now he has one, little and furry as he is. We took Merlin out the other day and he flushed out 3 birds in no time, but his long hair makes me worried that he will come home full of weeds and burrs so I made him a brush vest just like the big dogs wear.
He looks very miffed in these pics because I woke him up to try the vest on.  Cheesy

I altered the pattern from here. http://www.sewing.circleofcrafters.com/freepetvestpattern.html to include a chest flap.

It is made from some camo overalls that were to small for my FIL and an orange hunting vest that was ripped.
I hope to get some action shots soon.

Why doesn't evolution work with embroidery kits?

That is awesome on so many levels!

Is it reversible?  So he's safety orange outside and camo warm on the inside?

And how great that he wants to bird dog!  He looks like a confident pup, I bet he does a great job!

Yep it is reversable, I just didn't get a pic of him with it on the other way. We haven't gotten to go out hunting, but he's wore it a couple of times anyway.
