I think it turned out pretty and romantic-looking.... and it means I've finished one christmas present !  whoo!

It looks gorgeous, and looking at the pattern it might be something I could handle. I have a favourite sweater ruined by a small and obvious hole that's just waiting to be reborn into something just like this!

It was super easy - I strongly recommend using the technique where you do your base chain and first row of single crochets at the same time - so much easier  (photo tutorial:  http://snuffykin.livejournal.com/43642.html )

I used Paton's lacette.... I wanted to test the pattern out with something cheap in case I didn't like it... turned out quite nice!   I'd still like to do it again with a natural fibre though.
