I have just recently in the past few months started getting into embroidery and I love it! This is my first project that I am extremely proud of! I made it for Oxynitrate in the Make A Friend swap and she loved it! I got the picture from a website for colouring pages (http://www.edupics.com/en-coloring-pictures-pages-photo-cat-in-tree-i10087.html) I actually was looking for something with more detail but am extremely glad I stuck with this one, it had more detail than I thought!

Onto the pictures, sorry they aren't the greatest, my camera is slowly dying!

Here is a pic of the whole thing! I found the frame at Michaels and it matched perfectly, its one of the soft rubbery (??) faux wood ones!

Here are some closeups. Its all done in pretty basic stitches:

And just for perfectionists sake, a picture of the back! I was really picky on making it look good on the back in case it happened to show through! Oh and I ironed on interfacing after it was all finished!

So what do you think? Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you! I wish my camera was better so you could see the stitches closer, they are so tiny! It took me a week and a half to do because I wanted her to like it!

It looks wonderful... I love the fact that you chose a really organic looking tree, not just the "lollipop" looking ones to start as your first needlework piece... How did you enjoy working on it?

Human rights are for EVERYONE.  Did you know that Aung San Suu Kyi had been released from house arrest in Burma? Many other prisoners of conscience are still being detained.  Please research this topic... Amnesty International needs your help.

Thank you! I really enjoyed working on it! It was a lot of fun making all the tiny stitches! I almost feel like its another way of drawing, very free form, you can do as you please! I will definitly be doing more!

Love this, and you did a great job. Smiley

Thank you! These nice comments are really brightening my day!  Cheesy

Thank you! This is actually my 3rd or 4th really detailed piece, my first one was not nearly as tidy! Wink
