I just felt like seeing what I could do.  I didn't use a pattern, errr, rather, I guess I made one out of a Lucky Charms box that I rescued from my neighbors recycling bin (which was, conveniently, at the curb.)

This was leftover fabric from old curtains, so I didn't buy anything new.  My stitching might not bother me so much if I had used red thread, but I couldn't find any, so green it was.

And yes, I know that I should've sandwiched the handle between the two fabrics.  I just didn't think about it until it was too late.  Ooops.

Sorry for the links - I guess I don't have enough posts to img link the pics.  Sad

The purse:

The inside, it's kind of a vintage-y Circus theme:

And, an action shot:

(That's my 2.5 yr old carting it around, complete w/ my cell phone and a bunch of his little toys.)

I absolutely ADORE the interior fabric...I have to ask where you got it!!?
You did a real nice job!  The handles are a little thick, but really that's a personal preference, I think you did a great job.

[b]Hi, nice job for your first one. you'll find they're addictive! Smiley  i love the outside fabric.  looks like something i would pick out.

I Just a couple pointers.  Always iron the handles or straps.  It makes them look so much better.

also, personally, i would have attached the handle underneath the lining fabric, makes it look neat and finished.

I've had the circus fabric for a few years, maybe 4?  I think I got it at Hancock Fabrics, in the decorator section, way back when.

It's this fabric:

Monkey Toile, in Topsy Turvy by 5th Ave Designs for Covington - abt $15 a yard, though I don't remember paying that much for it.

Yeah, In my post I said I should have sandwiched the handle between the fabrics, and that's exactly what I meant.  I realized it immediately, but of course it's too late to fix it now.

And yes, it is addicting - I'm already planning another! Cheesy

I ***love*** Lucky Charms.  My kids - especially the 2 yr old seen modeling it - just pour the dry cereal on the table to eat the marshmellows, but I eat it all, it's alllllll good.  Cheesy

For anyone who's interested.....on the Covington site it's $14.99/yard with a minimum of 3 yards.  I just bought some on Ebay for 9.99/yard (just type in topsy turvy fabric.)  Now I'll have to come up with some cool use for it!  Cheesy  (PS - I like the marshmallows too - but the cereal kinda tastes like dirt.) LOL
