Hi! I recently started college in south Shropshire and I haven't really found many people into crafting... or anything I'm into really. It's a bit lonely at the moment.

Anyone out there fancy a chat? Smiley

It's a while since you posted, so I don't know if you found crafty-minded people but HELLO! from the middle of birmingham!
What sort of crafts are you into?

I'm not in the Midlands (thought my arty sister is) but I just wanted to say I love your signature quote. Is it from somewhere or did you come up with it?

Oh I got a stitch and bitch crochet book for Christmas! That would be so fun.

I think if embroidery clubs don't exist then we should definitely make one. I'd like to learn it Smiley

I would be up for starting one! I only started embroidering at Christmas - I got Jenny Hart's sublime stitching book with loads of transfers in. Only know the basic stitches at the moment but its not stopping me! My true craft is knitting. I got the Happy Hooker book a few years ago, hoping I could get my mum to help me, but that never really happened!

HI THERE FROM BRUM!! Cheesy
I'm not actually FROM brum per se but I'm studying at the uni right now so technically I guess you could say I'm from here at the moment.

Anyone know any bead stores/craft stores in Birmingham?

Wow!
You forget to come on craftser for a while and it all explodes!
I'm mainly a knitter/sew-er/beader although really I just try my hand at whatever takes my fancy!

constantina - there is a sweet little shop in Kings Heath called 'Armadillo' which is open from 11 most days (i think its mon-sat but can't remember what I was told now!) and they sell mainly beads, though I was talking to the owner and she said she was hoping to expand her knitting section. She also sells stuff for dying, scrabooking, some felt and a couple of other bits - definately worth checking out!

Are any of you close-ish to selly oak?
Equally, any on ravelry?

I was JUST about to reccomend Armadillo!

Also in Kings Heath there's dottys crafts on York Road- the same road as the Hare and Hounds. There's a lot of dolls house stuff but a pretty good selection of scrapbooking stuff, bits of felt, notions, buttons, glitter etc. Worth a look I reckon!

I went to a stitches back in november (at least I think it was then - it snowed on the day anyway)
haven't been since as I got involved with something here in Selly that runs on tuesdays, but might break out and head back soon - at the latest I'll be back in july/august time, when I move out of the oak and into somewhere slightly more normal!

Hi! I'm originally from Birmingham (Kings Heath) now living in Worcester, which is only 40 mins from Birmingham. I'm part of a small collective that organise regular Vintage & Craft Fairs in Worcester and we also started a Rebel Knitting Club every other Tuesday. Our next Fair is on Saturday 3rd October at St Helen's Church on Worcester High Street. It'd be great to meet some people from the wider Midlands area if you can make it to either the Fair or Rebel Knitting! All the details are on http://www.worcestervintage.blogspot.com and links to our facebook or myspace pages.

Hi from Wolverhampton! Cheesy
I love all sorts of crafts. My hands are constantly busy! I like felting, sewing teddy bears, knitting - especially scarves making, postcards and crotchet. I am getting prepared to start a bigger sewing project - I intend to make a nice dress 1950s style, so keep your fingers crossed.
Lots of love to everyone Smiley

Hi

I'm an Aussie living in Telford, Shropshire.

Not much crafty stuff going on here unfortunately.

I'm into quite a few crafts - embroidery, sewing, cross stitch, plushies, felting and anything else that takes my fancy or I like the look of, but I get easily distracted by shiny things Wink

Hello Lovlies!

I'm from Shropshire - I live in Telford but in the next couple of months I'm hopefully going to move to Shrewsbury.  Is anyone from Shrewsbury, I want to know if there are any crafty type groups?!  I've just started crocheting and sew stuff and generally have a go at making anything I need or want!

Hi,

I'm in Leicester. I love Knitting and sewing handbags most but will try my hand at pretty much anything.

My most recent makes are an Amy Butler tear drop handbag and a Cross stitch cushion cover with a day of the dead skull motif.

Hello!

I live in Much Wenlock, in Shropshire (inbetween Shrewsbury and Telford).  I have been considering starting a pub knitting/crochet group. I used to go to one in Telford, but I don't drive, so I can't really get there.  Anyone interested?

I find Shropshire quite dull really, so it would be nice to meet up with other crafty-types.

Hello

I am off to Brum for the weekend, hopefully will get a chance to visit the lost in lace exhibition @ Birmingham museum.  Does anyone know if there are any crafty goings on / craft shops in or around Birmingham city centre?  I have a few hrs spare on Saturday morning (assuming Friday night isn't too heavy!).

Thanks

Hellooo! I might be interested if you organised something in Shrewsbury...I live in Wellington but I don't have a car so I can only get to places by train...same as you really, it's easy to get trapped in Shropshire if you can't drive isn't it...it's difficult to get places...hope you find some crafty new friends somewhere! xx

Just to say that I visited the Lost in Lace exhibition at Birmingham museum at the weekend, and it was brilliant.  If you are in the area pop in and have a look.  It is free to get in to, plus it is just round the corner from the big Christmas markets (and is lovely & tranquil in comparision!).  I think it is on till the middle of feb.
