This is so yummy it can be made by anyone anytime. However, I made them for the Jewish holiday that starts tonight, called Sukkot. And if you have read ny of my other recipes you know already...it is stupid easy!

Don't they look like lulav!!?? Grin

Phyllo Wrapped Asparagus

Phyllo dough (thawed)
1 lb. asparagus
2 - 3 cloves garlic, minced
sea salt, fresh ground black pepper to taste
1/4 cup lemon juice
sesame oil
sesame seeds

Preheat oven to 400, and spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray.

Mix together salt, pepper, garlic, lemon juice and whisk.

Heat some sesame oil ni a pan, and put in cleaned asparagus, then pour over spices and lemon mixture. Saute for only a couple of minutes.

Unwrap Phyllo and cut in half length wise. Pick up two spears of asparagus, place at one end of dough and roll up. Place on cookie sheet and brush with a little sesame oil. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top, and bake for about 5 - 8 minutes.

Then eat! Dip into sesame ginger dressing* for an additional treat.

I added Key Limes on the plate to look like etrogs. lol My husband and friends know how silly I am about the details.

*Sesame Ginger Dressing

3 tablespoons ginger, grated
1 teaspoon dark brown sugar
1-2 teaspoon lemon juice or rice vinegar
2 teaspoons ginger juice
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon dark toasted sesame oil
Mix all together.
