Oh I wish I didnt have to work today!  I wanted to go to the show.  Why cant it be 2 days long!  How was it today?

I was trying to make my yoyo quilt.  Do you think they will let me bring it? I just need one little needle.  I dont mind not even having scissors.

Ok, weird...the "replies to your posts" button didn't let me know that you had responded!

The craftacular was a sign of things to come in the economy - I had lots and lots of lookers, but very few buyers.  It taught me that I need to focus on lower priced goods, so at least I learned something!  I made back the booth fee but not a lot more.  Sad Sad.

If you haven't gone on your trip already, I'm certain they will let you bring a needle.  And, if for some reason they got really crazy since I last flew (February of 2007) you could always just throw the needle away, or stick it in your luggage.

Sorry to hear about the craftacular.  way to look on the bright side about your booth fee.

Yes I went on my trip.  I decided just to not bring it.  It was a good thing because I was just to tired most nights to sew and to busy during the days.

Your mention of craft fairs got my attention!

Anyone know of any in the Milwaukee area?  Or a good way to go about finding some?

I am more interested in the 'go and shop them' and not the 'sell stuff'.

Thanks!!

I'm with elociNNicole on this one. Just moved down to the Milw./Racine area and would love to get a glimpse of the craftiness of South East WI. I'd love to find out about craft shows/markets in the area, as well as any fabric stores aside from the lovely big-box JoAnn's and Hancock's in area.
Any suggestions?

I have heard good things about Gayfeather in madison.  I have not been there yet.  Maybe I will go in the next few weeks.

I have never been there, either!  Which seems like a sin, seeing as I've been sewing for literally half of my life and have lived in the Madison area for all of it, save 8 or so months.

And then when you add the information that I was an apparel design major at UW-Madison, it's way sinful.  I just couldn't get myself to go and spend that much of (my parents' at the time) money, no matter how wonderful and beautiful the fabric is.  I think it's about time, though!

Only problem is I need more fabric like a need a hole in the head  Roll Eyes

er... like I need a hole in my head.  Haha me and my lovely fast typing.

Your top looks really good, especially considering it's your first piece of clothing you've made!  Awesome job!

What's even more impressive is that it looks like a knit (it is, right?) and if you ask me, knit fabric is so much more difficult to work with than woven.  Kudos!
