i finally got the roman shade finished for our master bath. made completely from scratch. i installed all the hardware, including a stop pull and corded it all myself. yes, i am patting myself on the back.  and - double bonus - it actually works. i did buy a pattern to make it, but in the end i didn't use it. the only thing i needed were measurements. which i'm sure i could have found somewhere on the web. behold!

That is so nice looking!  Great job, too!  I've made a few roman shades (the insulated kind) and it's a lot harder than it seems to sew a rectangle that's square and straight (or not square if your home is older like mine, ahem).

can i ask what brand/colour of paint that is? its exactly what im looking for!

it's valspar from lowes. i took the fabric in and they were able to match it. i was amazed at how close they got with the colors. i tried eyeballing it and was way off. i recommend taking a swatch in if you can.
