My sister and I are absolutely in love with that certain Illinois Senator who happens to be running for President.
The cake is 100% percent vegan based off the Magnolia Bakery Vanilla cupcake and Vanilla Icing recipes.

^^The Man himself. Eerily enough we've heard from a few people that he ended up looking like JFK.

^^Me with the Man.

^^The beautiful sister

I'm definitely giving kudos Boogaloo who did a Barack out of beans for the recent supermarket challenge.

Thanks Smiley

The cake turned out beautiful, but, I think I'd have a problem cutting into someone's face! Especially someone I like! I too see the JFK resemblance.

Did you pipe the frosting, or spread it with a knife?

I ask because I sometimes have the hardest time just icing a plain cake, let alone one with a portrait on it...  Tongue

I piped. Unfortunately we live in Florida where it is still 88 degrees right now and humid as hell (literally) so all homemade icing ever  runs runs runs. It was nice because the colors would hit each other and stay ok, but I had basically one shot to do everything because it would drip out of the bag if I waited. My lovely sister came in afterwards with a toothpick and extra icing for the details I flubbed.
