Okay, they remind me of those fabric yoyos, but AREN'T... They are made of separate folded pieces of fabric that are strung together and tied to form a circular ... thing. They kind of look like flowers, and are sometimes used for flowers.. What is this term I am looking for!? It's killing me.

You mean like this number?  If you google "fabric pinwheel" and go to Images, a pattern comes right up.  If not these, then I've got not a clue.  Undecided
