My friend is an amazing cake maker, so for her 30th birthday I bought her a new cake tin and decided to crochet some of her specialities to fill it.

The whole project owes a huge debt to Pseudoscorpion who posted this pattern;

All the cake slices are based on the starting triangle.
(As you can see, I decided to make irregular meringue, not sure if that was a good idea!)















I had to sew or crochet along all the edges to give the cakes edges reasonably straight sides, without that they were very squishy and shapeless.

Mmmm...these look delicious!  Yet another reason I should learn to crochet...and knit so I can make other cool items.  The cherry pie is my fave.  Great job!
