Heheh. Thanks for the feedback everyone. He earned a piece of banana or two for putting up with it. Secretly I think he likes it.
this made me giggle soooooooo much! do i dare ask for a aproximate pattern so i can torture my own rabbit? (mine is more forgiving, lucky me. i put things on his head when he sleeps on the top floor of his cage)
I can show you what I did, it's super-easy to draw up.
I measured my bunny from nose to tail and drew this pattern in the same measurement. It's the hood/cap and the back part:

(cut out 2 pieces, right sides facing)
Then I used that pattern to draw a row of spikes:

Cut spikes out, sew together, flip inside out (so they're right side out). You can stuff them for more stability.
Then I sandwiched the spikes
between the first two pieces in picture one. The yellow line is to indicate the direction they should be facing, but they should be in the middle of the other two pieces. Sew along the top (red) line.

Place on irritated rabbit to figure out ear hole placement:

Then I measured between the top of the existing piece to the underside of the bunny and cut out the blue shape in the right length. Attach both pieces to the existing costume sides (inside out), and sew!
You can velcro it together on the underside if you want. I used a piece of elastic cord so it'll give him some room so he doesn't feel like he's being wrapped tightly.
I hope that made sense!
