Jazzturtle, as always, if I was independantly wealthy, no one else would even have a chance at getting your yarns.  Just stunning.

Lots of really fantastic stuff.  I love eat_agar-skinny menagerie, geekycraftgrl yarn, Nocilassa's Yellow Submarine, and everything by Natasha.  Wow, everything is just great!!!

Everyone's yarn looks great!  So many awesome colours, and I'm jealous.

I haven't spun much lately, because my wheel needed fixing.  But I've finished some stuff recently, and I love it!
Here's "oh, sari!", spun from a Hollyeqq batt, about 160yds, 5oz.

And here's "the killing joke", spun from nerdclub2000's Slytherin roving, about 230yds from 4oz.

(my pictures are less than awesome.  I think I need a new camera Smiley )

They're all so great!

Jazzturtle - where do you find the time!? lol All beautiful but my fave is Tropical! I'm new to spinning and have only spun wool so far...is bamboo hard to spin? It looks slippery...but I love the gorgeous shine! I'm jealous of your batts (I want to bury my face in the pink one, it looks like a soft silky cloud!) but I just got a great deal on a drum carder so I can't wait for it to get here!

Beautiful yarns this week all!

Thanks WMA Smiley
I spin while I watch TV.. so whenever I'm just sitting at the couch, I'm spinning.. and I do have a weakness for junk tv.. so i'm on the couch a couple of hours every night..
I am having a hard time balancing spinning time and carding time.  I've done WAY more carding this week than spinning..  but that's to be expected I guess.. I've only had my carder for a week LOL!!

Bamboo is definitly more difficult to spin than wool.. but it's not as hard as cotton.  It's VERY slippery.. in fact it has no crimp whatsoever.. it also needs a fair amount of twist.. it doesn't do well with low twist singles-- it just falls apart..  but too much twist and it gets stiff.. so  you really have to find the right amount of twist for the size of the single..  the fibers are also very flyaway..  I strip my roving (or batts) into strips and predraft just enough to loosen the fibers.. I put everything into a large wooden salad bowl, with a silk scarf on my lap to keep me from getting covered in fibers.  Some people find spinning bamboo easier to manage if they spin it from the fold (tear a piece, fold it over your index finger, draft some fibers out from there and spin from "the fold")

Just dive in and practice.. it took me about a pound before I was comfortable with it.. but it's one of my FAVE Fibers now!

I love money! That's so pretty. Per usual, I have spent my week conjugating Spanish verbs into past tense, so I have no yarn to show off.  Tongue I'm glad I have Fiber Friday to get my yarn fix!

That is the fun part with batts!  You never know what to expect!
I hope to have batts for sale on my website again once I recover from my surgery.  Who would have dreamed that I would get a brand new fancy upgrade on my drum carder and then only used it a handful of times!
I am in batt making withdrawal.

Happy Spinning.
