Here's my skeins for the week:

WMA - love the naturally dyed!  Great job!

laminathegreat - I think that yarn would look terrific as socks! Have you tried soaking them in a salt/vinegar water to help set the dye?  Definitely rinse this and see how much of the dye will bleed.  Wonder what kind of dye they used?

Oh, my gosh, Lamina...SCORE!!!!  Holy carp, that is some yummy looking cotton.  Are you going to dye it all up, perhaps?     And that is too bad about the dye running while you were spinning it.  I've had that happened before and I just wanted to chunk the whole mess out the window.  The yarn turned out pretty, though!

So I have four to share this week...


Bluebird of Happiness  This is some humane Romney lamb roving from the Homestead Wool and Gift Farm that I dyed up and spun.  82 yards, thick/thin.


Folly  Okay, this was sort of a "dye sopper" experiment...at the end of a dyeing session, I poured the cupfuls of excess dye on merino roving and hoped for the best.  I like how it turned out.     200 yards, worsted weight.


Thunderhead  Corespun Babydoll Southdown and alpaca, fiber from Homestead.  Man, babydoll staple length is short.  65 yards, superbulky.


Yellow Submarine Handpainted and handspun bluefaced leicester.  92 yards, bulky.

Three this week:

skinny menagerie: Blue angora, grey and white mohair, green cormo and natural silver cotswold, even some natural brown yak with some green and yellow soy silk, yellow glitz and copper bamboo.


maat: Turquiose silk rods set against golden tussah silk, organic color grown cotton and dyed corridale wool top spun into a soft, chunky, thick and thin singles.


popgun: A blend of pink, blue and green tunis wool, natural Romney, dyed orange and natural alpaca, black mill ends, grey mohair, golden tussah silk with Yarnia threads and copper glitz.


I love all the orangey colors popping up this week, especially "no name". "Money" is also super cute, too.

A spinner friend gave me some fiber she dyed. Here is the result of my spinning... It looks like a rainy cloud ! I'm very impatient to weave it (and to wear the scarf ! lol.

I love everyone's yarns this week..  but Isamax that supercoil one is just AMAZING!!

I haven't posted in a couple weeks.. so here's some of what I've spun.. I've been a manaic getting stuff done, since I was in an art show last sunday that was totally fun..


Pumpkin Patch, 69 yards, merino spun thick and thin, then plied with metallic thread and 6 hand crocheted pumpkins


Bollywood, assorted fibers and TONS of firestar


Tropical, bamboo, 170 yards


Chocolate Berries, bamboo, 200 yards


Jack o lantern, 29 yards, corespun merino and bamboo batt


Wood Nymph, 2 oz, 200 yards Tussah Silk


Birthday Party, Merino spun thick and thin with pearl beads and sequins, then plied with a rainbow holosparkle thread


Midnight Diva, corespun assorted fibers


Summer Lemonade, sw merino and bamboo, spun thick and thin with a low twist


Autumn Leaves, corespun assorted fibers


Simple Rainbow, merino spun thick and thin w/ a low twist, Striping with 2 repeats


All Blues, corespun striping yarn, with 2 repeats of the 3 shades of blue


Mars, assorted fibers, striping yarn with random repeats

Then the most exciting news.. GUESS WHO GOT A DRUM CARDER!!!!
I'm so excited I"m having such a great time..
I've carded a few monotone batts from the different shades of merino, with matching firestar, angelinas, sari silk, sequins and novelty yarns.. I think I'm going to make lots of these.. I love how they turned out!!




I've also done some fun sparkley rainbow batts.. crazy carding style..  they are SOO Fun!!
