OK SO backstory? My 2 good friends are getting married in September (yaay!) Originally this was a fairly traditional wedding (bergundy & champagne colors, backyard, nice idea) Before our first bridesmaid meeting, the bride went to five below, and decided to give all of us yummy candy and pop rock scented shower gel, and nerds lip gloss, and things of the like. This sparked her interest in a way she had not quite expected to. The theme of the whole wedding quickly changed to CANDYLAND!
Which is entirely appropriate for them, and I never could have seen them having such a traditional wedding anyways.

So onto the shower. Due to many miscommunications and cluelessness, I quick tried to throw together a shower. To go with the candyland theme, we are doing a dessert menu. All the girls are baking (or buying) some of their favorite desserts and that is what will be served as food.

So I will be away the few days before the shower (making it hard to make foood...) I decided to tackle the favors. also, her mom is doing the decorating...so i wanted to be able to incorporate some craftiness (since bride is crafty herself) I had some things in mind, and of course it didn't come out quite as I hoped (but I'm poor...so I had to improvise)

Originally wanted terra cotta pots, with the floral styrofoam and "grass" covering it... Instead I went with paper cups (wedding themed)

I made a "candy bouquet" (or tried to at least..)
2 different types of cups, both wedding themed (1-precious moments bride & groom, 1-wedding bells)
Each "bouquet" has
lime green shredded tissue paper "grass"
1-red glittery heart on a wire as the center
1-rainbow twizzler (the stringy rip apart kind)
2 or 3- jolly rancher lollipops
2-little toothpick type things just for decoration
2-heart shaped reeses cups (1 gold, 1 pink)
1-kids size toothbrush (obviously a play on the candy theme...)

All wrapped up in a plastic bag, ribbon holding it together.

Sorry for the bad pictures, I took them on my <camera> **phone. I'm going to try and take better pictures with my camera before the shower.

Sounds like a fun favor to make, and even more fun to receive! Good idea, and much more fun than the usual standard favors Grin

I'm throwing a candyland party in a few months. If anyone has any ideas for decorations, centerpieces, etc. please leave me a message.

Thanks
Katie
