pom-poms make the heart grow fonder

I have an insanely busy schedule this semester, so that clearly calls for insanely complicated knitting. I made Eunny Jang's Anemoi mittens in less than three weeks. Woo! They were my first fair isle project and first mittens. Yarn is Dale Baby Ull.

I thought I could have a beer with lunch and keep knitting. And I could! I just didn't keep knitting according to the chart.

I thought about fixing it, of course, but I actually like it. I feel like it shows the process.

Action shot!

I love them - especially with the "character" you've added!

I love that you kept the mistakes to say a story,  I think they are great, you did an amazing job on the front part!

Very cool.  I actually really like the "messups" and I think it's great you kept it like that.  You get a story to tell, and I love & totally agree with your "process" concept.  I am the same way - it shows your effort/energy that went into it.  They are very sweet looking!

I don't think I could knit, let alone knit fair ilse with beer in my system.  I bow to your accomplishment, lol.

The mittens are great.  And isn't it nice to know that you still (sort of) have skills while under the influence of ..um let's call it an old fashioned study aid?

It's funny because it's true!

Thanks guys! Yeah, oddly enough I managed to keep to the chart for the more complicated side, but on the palm, I sort of relaxed... a little too much. But I like my projects to have a little character.

amybarnett, don't be afraid of fair isle! I always was, until one day I decided, out of nowhere, I'm going to make fair isle mittens today! And went to the LYS.

You made me laugh out loud (and the kids are trying to go to sleep in the same room I'm in)!   I love these, I hope to make them someday.  I have some of that yarn but only 2 balls, how many did yours take?
