So my wife is pregnant with our first child (15 weeks) and I've been trying to come up with a clever gift/card idea to give to family and close friends. We've already been telling people so surprising everyone with an ultrasound is out, but really I want to give people something that would mean something but still not be completely useless. I know I'm probably over thinking it, but I'm excited and I know my dad is excited to be a grandpa (1st).  Of note: my baby will be the second Great-Great Grandchild but it will be the first to retain the Family name (5 generations of living Dixons). So there may be an idea there...

When my brother and sister in law got pregnant, they told everyone by giving them bumper stickers that said, "Ask me about my grandbaby!!!"  I thought it was so cute.

Maybe you can do something with that.

Love the idea, only problem is...everybody pretty much already knows. I'm just hoping to come up with something that gets people excited about their new Grandchild, Great-Grandchild, or Great-Great-Grandchild...

I'll definitely keep that one in mind though...Got some friends who haven't told many people yet...Thanks!

How about brag books for the grandparents? You can make the first picture the ultrasound and promise to give them a new picture every month, year, etc to fill it up. You can even add a maternity picture of you kissing your wifes baby belly. For friends/family how about a picture ornament? Or a 5th generation Dixon ornament/card of with your family crest on it?
