What do you all do with old yarn?  I have about 5 skeins of three different colors that I bought for my recently finished afghan that I did not use.  I bought them sooo long ago and don't have the receipt so I can't return them.  Also, the colors are bright yellow, orange, and green so I wouldn't use them to make anything else.  Any ideas?  Anyone want some brightly colored acrylic yarn? lol.

There may be a charity in your area that will take them so people can make them into squares.  Or better yet, make them into squares yourself and donate them to a charity that makes blankets for either the sick or homeless.

Donating is a great idea.

I make wigs and dolls out of scrap yarn (and Barbie clothes) for the girls.

Make pillows to go with your afgan.  Or make another one for a gift.

The idea about the charity organization is great, my club is always looking for yarn on Craigslist so I'm sure you can find someone in your area.  or you can whip up a hat or two and donate them yourself!  Smiley
