This one also is made for the Birds Are Beautiful Round 3 and this is my medium item. The idea is my own but I did use the owl shape
from the talented Moonstitches. You can find her blog by googling that name.
For this I bought: a calendar tea towel, faux bois contact paper and some sets of buttons from a Finnish internet auction site.
Total cost around 5. Time spent 3-4 hours. I know. I am slow.

Comments are welcome. Don't be too harsh because this is one of my favourite things I've ever made.
Seriously. Like ever!!!

I love these!  I love that you used the calendar towel for the owls...they reminded me of those Maritn Margiela shirts...but better because they are owls!  Are you going to be able to part with them?  I think I'd have to frame them up and give something else for the swap!   Wink

I already did part with them but it WAS hard. I do have enough material to do a set for myself too...Which I will.

I only just noticed this post (shame on me Embarrassed) and being the VERY lucky recipient of these beautiful owls I can tell you that literally everyone who comes to visit tells me what lovely owls I have!!

I hope you managed to make some for your self, but just wanted to let you know they are much appreciated in their new home (as are all the items I received, I use the needle holder all the time). Hope you're doing well, did your scarf see you through the finnish winter? We should do that personal swap some time.

Hey! Nice to hear from you. Pleased to know that my creations are like and used and I'm definitely up for personal swap.
Maybe in end of May? We could some picnic stuff for each other. Oh and your scarf. Loves it!!! The shape is just perfect for Finnish winters
and I could use more of these. Maybe I should learn to knit them myself Cheesy

Oh, and I still haven't made owls for myself...But I do have the supplies!

End of May swap sounds perfect... message me when you're less busy. I can send you the scarf pattern if you're interested. I actually started a knitting class just after the swap and used the scarf to teach everyone because it's interesting but not too hard.
