I made this for my Gram.  She had a stroke about 4 weeks ago, and is now in a nursing home.  We are hoping she can be rehabilitated, but I wanted to make her room a bit more cheery.  We both share a love of birds, and so this fabric was perfect!  She is a wonderful quilter, and has made me 2, so I figured I should pay back the favor.
Gram can't talk well, and we don't know what she understands, but when I gave it to her she said "Birdies!"  which made me smile.  I think she likes it...
I know it isn't a pieced quilt, but I did hand quilt around the birds and the little dots.

Thanks for looking!  Any positive thoughts for my Gram would be very appreciated.

What a lovely thing to do for your gran! The fabric is very happy-cheery and I'm sure would make anyones day. I like that it isn't pieced, it makes a better statement of happy birdie-ness.  Grin

It always warms my heart when I hear or see grandchildren doing what they can to stay in touch with their grandparents.

I think your quilt is great and pieced or not ... I would love to snuggle under it!

Blessings!

Thanks guys!  My Gram is my favorite person in the entire world, and the nicest.  Unfortunately I live 4 hours away from her right now...  I would do anything to make her feel better.

The quilt and the thought behind it are both beautiful.

What a beautiful hug for your Gram. I'm sure it brightens her day every time she sees it. What a great way to show her you are thinking about her.

You've done a wonderful job.  I love the colors in the fabric and the green binding and backing.  My grandma and I also share a love of quilting.  I hope that your grandma has a fast road to recovery!
