Help!!! There are UFO's everywhere in my room!

This pattern originated from my desperation to have something a little warmer on me for a upcoming October wedding (2 days away). I decided that an easy (almost-can't-screw-it-up) shawl pattern was in order, and that even though the pattern should be easy...it should still have some pizazz. The eye-catching drop-stitches in the clapoltis came to mind, and I thought to myself, "Self. Do you really need to fiddle with all of those increases & such to get the same effect?" The answer was "Not really." And presto-chango, the "dummy clap" was born. The instructions are minimal, yet the result: satisfying.

Materials:
Yarn: 475 yds (1.5 skeins) of Caron Simply Soft yarn (or anything soft in a worsted weight). Colorway is seen in "Violet 9611."
Needles: Size 10 US straights or circular needles
Gauge: approx. 5 sts=1'' 5 rows=1''
Original Dimensions: 26X65 inches
Abbreviations: k=knit p=purl yds=yards sts=stitch tbl=through back of loop

Thanks for taking a look. Smiley I'll probably ravel-it sometime.

Oooo! Pretty!

I really like this. And the color is amazing.

Do you think the pattern is something a newbie to knitting could follow? Or should I hold off till I've practiced a bit more?

Thanks, guys!

And yes, the pattern would most definitely be tailored to the newbie...there's nothing really to it!

YOu are too funny.....I love the name of your pattern!  It's so true, though.   It was so creative of you to come up the the Dummy Clap!   The real Clap started getting on my nerves with all the increases and decreases.  This is wonderful Smiley
