Quick question in case anyone has some experience...

If a pair of swappers both are not sending and not communicating, what should be done? I poked around a bit, and it doesn't seem like an angeling situation since no one sent, and getting 'replacement' partners doesn't seem to make sense, since neither are communicating. I have tried contacting both of them many times with no response after the initial responses that promised send dates.

For awhile they were both stating they were sending at similar times and then simultaneously dropped out of contact. They have both had negative feedback for a long time.

Not sure what to do in this situation and any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Since they are no longer communicating, please leave them both with negative feedback. In some instances, both partners will agree to not send. In those cases, since there was communication and an agreement, we let them both drop the swap and their feedback is removed.

However, with this pair of partners, neither agreed to not send, so it's only a coincidence that you as organizer didn't have two different people get flaked on.

Thanks for the quick response! If I leave them both with the negative, should I close the swap (as in move it to ended ones folder)?

If they were to decide mutually to not send, is that option still open to them? They have both logged on in the last week so either they are ignoring me or something, so not sure they will even come to the idea to mutually decide to not swap.

If they are the last pair of partners you are waiting for, you can go ahead and close out.

Then I'd send them both a pm and let them know that since they did not communicate and did not send, you have given them both negative feedback. Invite them to open a help desk ticket if they have an issue with this feedback. That way, you are totally done with the swap, and if they do claim that they mutually decided to not send, the swap mods can deal with the issue.

I'm inclined to have them each have to angel, though, since you have tried to contact them and neither is responding. That's not the kind of person one would generally wish to have as a swap partner.

That's the situation I'm in right now. I've got 2 people that were partnered together and both said they'd be sending late right before the send out date. Now I find out that neither one has crafted anything yet so I've suggested they just drop the swap. I've only heard from one so far, she agreed and we're both fairly certain the other girl will agree.

When/if she does should I just open up a help desk ticket and then a moderator will erase it from their profile? Or is that something I can do?

A moderator will have to delete feedbacks. Once you have heard from both partners, go ahead and open a help desk ticket and a swap mod will take care of it.  Smiley

I'm so glad you asked this question - I'm possibly having that issue, too. My first thought was, "why not just delete them both?" But rackycoo is right - these people DID join a swap, and it's just a coincidence that they got paired together, so it's good to prevent future flaking.
