Thank you!!  It's actually from a girl on Etsy.  Her shop name is BlackTrillium, I believe.  Her name's Melanie, she's a total sweetheart... and we worked out some custom coloring for me, for this project.   Smiley  She got it just the way I wanted them!

Cinderelly!  I LOVE that color!!!!
I'm actually glad I have to wait a little before I get my yarn, I've had time to think of how I could modify the leg warmers and so far I've come up with 2 options!
1) either a simple cable pattern up the back
OR!!
2) holes in the back (probably just at the top half) so I can weave ribbon through it to make it a lace up stocking!!
Thoughts?

ah, yes... let me photograph my first leg in progress...

not the greatest pictures, my camera is low on battery, about 9 inches into my first leg. not bad considering my busy schedule.

I'm knitting on short dpns so I can't stretch it fully out to show ya.
the width is at 74 sts so far, i think.

So far I've got shin-high!

And lunasblue, the laces up the back sounds really groovy. and cabling would certainly make them unique (i haven't tried cable patterns so I don't know how much more difficult that would make things).

I think i'm going to start the second leg before I finish the first, so I can feel like I'm making more progress, and so I'm not tempted to walk around in just one legwarmer when i finish the first one...

happy knitting!

Haha, that's probably a really good idea!  It sounds like something I would do... try to walk around in the one finished one, while I'm still working on the second.  I did that when I made myself a pair of slippers...  Roll Eyes

Isn't it a beautiful color?!  I'm VERY excited for getting this yarn, it's so gorgeous!

And I was thinking the exact same thing about just a single cable up the back or up the outside of each leg!  The ribbon would be super lovely, too!

I'm going to look through my book of cable patterns to see if one seems like it would fit.
I don't know if there's too many colors in my yarn that would over power a cable pattern?
Cinderelly, your yarn and a cable pattern would be beautiful!!
Crescentfresh, that's a great point! I'm working on a sweater right now & I'm making both sleeves at once on circulars because that is exactly my problem, so maybe I will try to work the leg warmers on circulars at the same time...

I'm pretty sure I'll be working these leg warmers in the round on circulars.  I'm not a huge fan of seaming.

I just finished working this pattern:  http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter05/PATTnamaste.html  and I really like the look of the cables on it, so I'm thinking I might just work one of these cables into the back of each leg.

I don't know if it would be a really big deal if you worked a cable in your yarn, lunasblue.  I think it would still look really neat!

I don't much like semaing either, and tubes on circs or dpns are so much quicker to knit with stockinette stitch. alas, I followed the pattern, and there's no turning back.
