I tried ot post this a minute ago and the computer quit.....here goes nothing:

I made this with no pattern and a yard of neat fabric. If the pics look crooked it is cause I am sticking my knee out.

finished skirt:

floor shot

pleats

before the orange ribbon

being un-ladylike

zipper that is kinda on the side and kinda not (really frustrating zipper)

comments welcome!

I have that same fabric. I WAS going to make a lunchbag out of it but your skirt is so cute I think I've changed my mind.  Smiley Good job!

Its amazing how developers will now make a game on the wii based on ONE thing and then sell it for 50 dollars. Whats next? "Walk!: The Game. Now Available on the Wii, use motion sensing controls on the wiimote and nunchuk to walk at different speeds!!

First off: Best.  Fabric.  Ever.  I like the little details like the pleats and the contrasty bands of colour - great job, and double-kudos since you free-handed it!

I've always loved that fabric. It's so funny.

Little advice - raise your zipper so the edge of the waist is at the top of the teeth - then fold the zipper edges back and stitch them down. Then you won't have a gap. Or just put in a hook and eye.
