Wow everyone! Shocked Thank you so much! Now that I'm aware of it, I'll definitely consider entering the contest.

Wow.I humbly admire your ambition and tenacity.
But, um... how are you going to see?

That's a very good question! For the bird-headed mask, I'm going to cut out the back of the mouth, so he'll just be able to see through that hole pretty easily. For the others, you can't actually see them in the picture, but in the black-haired mask, we've poked a ton of tiny pin holes all around the eye area. Vision is somewhat limited with this technique, but it isn't terrible. If it gets to be too bad, we're going to cut slits around the eye creases which should help quite a bit without compromising the masks too much.

The body suit has a very small little chicken tail, so it may not need a bustle to support the weight, though I'm intrigued by the idea (I may use it for the bird-head one!). I've been on the look out for appropriate color/texture furry coats in thrift stores that I could alter, though no luck yet. Our local fabric store is having a pretty big sale on fake fur though, so maybe I can find something there.

I'll definitely keep posting more photos as I near completion.
Thanks again!

Wow!  Your housemates better love you forever!

These tutorials are for fursuits, but you might find some useful stuff like how to make clawed hands, fit masks, and add a ventilation fan:  http://matrices.net/fursuiting.asp
