My daughter is celebrating her 16th birthday this week.  We had a party for her Saturday night, and this is the cake I made for her.  It was easy and fun to do.

Did you make your cake stand too? It's really cute, if so how did you do it?

Thanks for all the nice comments.  I wanted to post a link to the instructions on how to make the cake stand, but the link isn't working.  It is made up of styrofoam, ribbon and paper.  I hope to use it again for other events and simply change out the embellishments.  Thanks again.

The link with directions on how I made the stand is now working.  It's very simple, and you can really make it to the dimensions you want.  She used "cake dummies" for the center pieces (that give height).  I am too cheap for that, so I bought styrofoam rings at the Dollar Tree and stacked them together, joining them with toothpicks.  I also used a large sheet of styrofoam to cut out the big circles, because pre-cut ones are too pricey for my taste.

Is there such a thing as too much fabric or ribbon

What an adorable cake! Thanks for posting the link to the stand, that's a great, inexpensive idea! I love the colours, too!
