I recently swapped for the book Sew What! Skirts and this is my first creation using the instructions!  It is the fitted top A-line skirt with a zipper.  I used some remnant fabric from Joann that I got for $2 (gotta love crazy chrysanthemum fabric) and the best part it that it only took my two hours this afternoon to make.

I think it seems like a flattering skirt (I am open to hearing if it's not since I wouldn't want to make fifty of them only to know I look horrible in it  Tongue ) - comments and critiques are welcome!

Cute Skirt!  Great Fabric!  I have been wanting that book so bad.  It looks like it'll be worth the investment, especially if you got that skirt done in a couple of hours!

Thanks for the kind words everyone  Cheesy

I was hesitant on getting it at first because our local library doesn't carry it so I had never had a chance before to even look inside.  But I think it's such a great jumping point for making clothes that are totally fitted just for your measurements (I've never been good at normal patterns anyway  Grin )

I love that fabric! It looks great on too, but for the next one maybe make it so it falls just above your knees. It might be even more flattering that way.

P.S. I love those boots.

Excellent!  That is a great idea - I think I will make it that length next time.  And the boots are my favorite thing every, thrifted for only $6.50  Grin
