I LOOOOOVE HALLOWE'EN!!!

October is my favorite month of the whole year!  I love getting dressed up in costumes, I love getting candy, I love carving pumpkins, I love hallowe'en so much that I have 2 black cats!

Anyway, I haven't started my pumpkins for this year cause its early to be carving (But I will be doing some because I'm going to do a store window display!  Yay!)  But here is some of my hallowe'en stuff from last year!

My pumpkins!  I use a vegetable peeler to peel off the skin, then a paring knife to carve into the rind.  The one on the left is about a week old in this photo and actually starting to develop afew spots of mold.  I think it adds character!  The one on the left has styrofoam balls for eyes because I accidentally messed up and carved to far into the rind.

This is the same pumpkin from the previous picture, only it was taken just after I finished carving.  They always look better after they've had a few days to dry out I fiind.  The little cat is my kitty, Batman!  Smiley

And here are a few Hallowe'en drawings I did, and coloured with photoshop!

I love them!  How long did it take you to make them?  Their faces are so full of character.  Wonderful job Smiley

Haha, I love the 'snack that smiles back,' I used to eat gold fish and wiggle them in my fat kitty's face while I sang the song to him, he would lick all the salt off but never ate the cracker Tongue

The small pumpkin face is awesome too, I love both of them but I think the short one is my fave Cheesy You did an awesome job on everything!

The pumpkins are awesome!  I totally rocked them!
I've never seen pumpkins carved like that before. I think the relief in the second one is awesome.

Thanks fellow craftsters!

It takes me about 2 and a half to three hours to carve a pumpkin like that.  I always go for heavier pumpkins because they've got the thickest rinds.  I don't cut them open and scoop them so they last a little bit longer than the average pumpkin thats been cut out and scooped, and when the facial features have time to dry, it usually brings out more lines and details that you didn't even know were there!
