Okay, so I need a Halloween costume idea.  I have to wear this to school so keep that in mind!  I have a flapper girl dress from last year, sleeveless, goes down to the knee, black with the little strings all over it that move, that I would love to recycle into my costume this year because it fits me really well.  Any ideas?  I appreciate your help!

You could put on a vest, a cowboy hat, and some boots and go as a line dancer at a Country-Western bar.  You could wear white gloves and a belt and a top hat and walking stick and go as a modern jazz performance artist.  You could add a big shawl, a bandana, some big hoop earrings, and a crystal ball and be a gypsy.  Fringe is tricky, but it'd look pretty good if it's just a part of the costume.  Like you could wear a striped shirt and an eyepatch and carry a sword to go as a pirate girl (with the fringed dress as a skirt only).

You could make some sort of furry mask, leggings and tail and use the fringe as animal or monster "fur".  Or you could change it into a Jazz age "witch" costume.

Sew six arms to it and wear black tights and shoes and you could be a very well dressed spider!

I was actually in the same boat last month. I had decided to go with a Ringmaster or Circus preformer theme. I found the cutest mini tophat and everything. Eventually I just decided to start with a whole new costume. I like the animal/monster idea  Wink

A doll or marionette would work, too!

Why not go for a Burlesque costume? Top hat, fishnets, black heets, gloves, ribbons, feathers etc. Something out of Moulin Rouge? If you have ever seen that film, they have a song about how diamonds are a girls best friend - you could class it up yet keep it suitable for school.
