Without going into much detail, I found out some horrible news on Monday that Hubby and I will not be adding to our family Cry.  I am finding things to keep myself busy,( being a SAHM and having a 2.5 yo does that for you!  Cheesy) Sorry for the drama... Tongue

I love mermaids and wanted to do something to cheer myself up.  This is not from a pattern or anything but from one of my 4-5 sketchbooks.  And I promise the sketch is WAY better.  I am thinking that black cloth is not very forgiving so I may have to switch to a lighter colored fabric.  I love the way the colors pop on the black.

LOTS of things I can improve on but I wanted to share and get feedback:

Thanks for looking!

I agree that the colors do pop on the black & I like the fact that she came from your own sketch.

And, I am SOOOO sorry for your sad news...

Sorry about your news.. hopefully you were able to benefit from that craft-therapy. The mermaid looks lovely. I still have yet to try embroidering on something dark.

Very pretty. It's nice that you did something good for yourself.
