Similar crafting level?
How would that be judged?
I think that the reason swaps are fun is that you send/receive something that is not what you normally would make for yourself-- that is made for you by someone, that you made for another...
I don't know how you judge someones' efforts in that respect.

Well, I'm confused.. Does this swap have a limited budget? Does it mean we send only one thing, or more..?
I'm sorry, but can you be more specific?

I think the "similar crafting level" thing is a good idea. I think it's just to make sure that someone who makes a quilted tote bag (alot of work) doesn't recieve a seashell keychain (nothing against them, just that they don't take so much effort). I think it's a good idea. No one feels cheated.

I don't mean pairing people that are making similar things, I meant pairing peole that are of a similar skill level. As FunkyOlive indicated, I'd be a bit disappointed if I put several hours work into a swap and received a something that took a lot less effort.

Seriously, if anyone is offended by this, I'll definitely take it out of the post.

I hadn't thought to give it a limited budget, most swaps that I have been involved in have been a 'use your own judgement' thing. If you're making something time-consuming, then one thing might be appropriate, but if you're making something smaller, you might want to make a few things.

I feel like I'm getting this all wrong.

I've removed the part about sending a link to your work. I had some, uh, less encouraging messages about it and I want to apologise to anyone who was offended.

For what it's worth, I should mention that the crafts that have been sent are aboslutely gorgeous and of the highest quality.

I really am sorry, guys!

I want to sign up but what I very specifically want is small crafted stuffed animal sea creatures to make a mobile with (i already have a bunch from the fishie swap but I need MORE...MORE!!).  Am I being too demanding?  Huh

I've just finished making a bunch of little stuffies that might fit your requirements, if no one else can do it, I'll be your swap partner.
