Oooh....you make me jealous! Instead of fussing on CNN about politics, I should be CRAFTING!

So much more rewarding!  Roll Eyes

How do I love it? Let me enumerate the ways...

I love the leafy pattern on the side...

I really like the contrast...

The repeat of the leaf top and bottom is wonderful!

You did a great job with those ribbon ends. (I must re-trim/fraycheck mine.)

Thank  you for sharing!

teeeheee watching politics whilst crafting. Thanks for the comps:) I super-soaked the ribbon ends this time...

omg that's so fanfreakingtastic and i LOVE it! it's amazing the variety of styles to see in this one little craft, we all have our own distinct flavour.
and daina, STOP belittling your crafting girl! i'd be super pleased to get any of those in a swap, they are little treasures for SURE!

I'm sorry, I promise I didn't mean to belittle myself. I think I just had a vision of different colors. This one looks quite christmasy if you don't see the ladiness of it all:P

I know! I think all the difference are so great, and you really can do ANYTHING with it, can't wait to see your pinnie measuring tape cozy!!!!

Thanks for your compliments too! They really do help me to feel better....I do hope that she made you feel good too:)

Well, obviously, it's because it's a HOT project!  Grin

I think it has to do with the number of replies you get. Great project+plenty of responses= HOT!

Absolutely adorable!

oh man, you just gave me the BEST idea about adding stuffing. why not make the top a pincushion? you could do so many amazing designs, like a mushroom, a house, the leaning tower of pisa, etc etc etc while the button on the bottom would keep the tape measure functioning.
i'm doing it! i'll show you what i come up with.

Great idea! I saw something like this in a store recently. They had a bird, an owl, a cupcake, and a mouse. The tape measure came out where the tail was.

That just goes to show you...nothing new under the sun!

could you tell if they were handmade?

Was it sort of like a stuffie with a tape measure hidden inside, or a circle with a mouse's features added on?

Enquiring minds,  you know! Wink

OK, so I'm a total addict. I don't even know where this one is going. I mean, I really don't need three different tape measures of my own, right?

This was supposed to be a flower, but doesn't really look like one. But I really like the colors. i used a covered button (made with Amy butler scraps. I had never done covered buttons before and I found some kits that the DH had bought years ago and went to town:) I again put the retract button on the bottom, but mostly because the covered button is kinda fat...I also got so excited about putting it together that I didn't put anything at all on the bottom of the cozy. Oh well, it's not like I won't be making more:)           I did the lazy daisy stitch on the side again. just cause I think it's so much fun! My french knots are almost perfect now:) I used white ribbon and a white button because I didn't have anything closer to the colors to work with. But I think it looks good. Oh and TONS of fray check!!!!
Thanks for looking!!
