Hola!
Voy a visitar Madrid en algunas semanas. Pues, es la primera vez que vuelo ahí.
Queria visitar algunas tiendas que venden tejidos, lana y cosas por bricolaje también.
Sabe alguien tiendas buenas y recomendables?

Me alegro de otras recomendaciones tambien :-)

Muchas gracias!

Hello!

In a few weeks I'm going to visit Madrid. I've never been there before and I really would like to see a few shops which offer fabrics, wool or "crafty" stuff.
I would be happy if someone could recommend me some shops, addresses etc.
All other recomendations are welcome, too :-) (second-hand-shops, cafes etc.)

Thanks in advance!

Hello Maey!
I'm not from Madrid, but I can help you.
If you're searching for craft suppliers there's a great shop called Chopo http://www.artesaniachopo.com/ located near to Puerta del Sol (a popular place to visit as turist), also near is Almacenes Cobián http://www.almacenescobian.es/ where you can find lot of beads, buttons, findings.. I don't know if they sell wool, but, here in Spain it's still a thing about our grannys so is easy to find common wool on "notions store" i don't know if I'm speaking well,I'm using a dictionary, in spanish they are called mercerías that kind of tiny shop where you can buy ribbon, thread, buttons and underwear, my friends fromhttp://www.fimoland.com/foro/ recommend Mercería Dos Reales C/ Melchor Fernández Almagro 56 (Pilar's district)
I hope you speak spanish well, because most of these shops are about personalized service, I mean there are a guy on a check asking you what you want, so it's better if you know exactly what you want and you know how to ask for ^_^

If you're going to another spanish city let me know! I have another advices for you.

Hello Nuhbe!

Thanks a lot for your answer!  Smiley That's a great help for me, I think I wouldn't find any of these shops on my own in such a huge city like Madrid.

Concerning the language.. I'm still learning to speak spanish (it's such a beautiful language) and so I'm not quite sure if anyone will understand me.. Wink but I'm meeting there a spanish friend of mine so in case of need she has to translate ;-)
I don't know the expression "notion" store (I'm from Germany so english isn't my native language too) but you described it very well, so I think I understand what you mean.

So thanks again for your help (this time I'm going to visit only Madrid but I hope to see more of Spain soon in the future) Smiley

De nada!! Wink

There's also a cool place called Pinta en Copas where you can take a coffe while you're painting ceramic take a look of their web http://www.pintaencopas.com/

I forgot to say if you want practice spanish on-line you can join to Fimoland forum, it's about polymer clays but we also have a NON-clays subforum.

Hope you enjoy my country!

Oh, I'm sure I will enjoy your country  Smiley and all the great spanish food *g*

I just took a look at the Fimoland-Forum. Normally I'm more into sewing, stenciling and that stuff. But the Forum seems to be very interesting, perhaps I should reactivate my polymer clay pool Wink

Muchas gracias! :-)
