Instead of spending crafting time for a swap one night, I decided to whip these up.

(Bless You!)

The shirt was one of those design-as-you-draft garments. I lost my basic block so I drafted one out of scratch and went from there. Overall, this red shirt took 4.5 hrs to make; drafting/cutting/sewing. I hated working with the material because it rolled. I might make something similar in the future...

Details: The neckline is a cowl/collar that starts from center left and around the neck down the middle. The middle flap is made to look like a cardigan flap.

(Excuse the white stuff on my pants, they're powdered sugar from fondant!)

This is a mock of a utility vest I've been dying to make. The fabric I used was such a delight to work with. It's canvas woven on a bias. It was scrap fabric so I only had about 1.5 yds, more or less, so I had to cut carefully. The pockets, if you can see them (there's four), are tinier scraps sewn together to form a basic pocket shape. It also has a belt and belt loops. This one took me an hour; draft/sew. In conclusion, I'm definitely going to make the real version I had in mind, although this one came out pretty good too.

p.s. These two really compliment each other and make a nice outfit too! Smiley

p.p.s. EDIT

MORE PICTURES!

You did a fantastic job!  I'm in love with the vest.  I love the little accent of black you added to the red shirt.  The collar on it is amazing as well.

For a second I thought you liked the black accent on the vest, which was the sharpie I used to trace out the pattern. haha Thanks, btw! Smiley
