So, I've made a mess of beefcake pot holders, because they crack me up. (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=227985.msg2474133#msg2474133, http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=266251.msg2992640#msg2992640, http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=98823;sa=showTopics;start=40)  I came upon some girlie pin-up fabric that I really liked and decided to make some pot holders out of it, too.  I had a lot of fun naming the firemen and hearing feedback about them, so I decided to name the ladies, too.

Everything you do is SO CUTE & this is no exception.  I have a single guy friend who would eat these girls hanging around in his kitchen!

Where did you get the nifty fabric? I know my hubby would eat this. Not to mention I could use some of those fireman potholders myself. Grin

Aw, thanks!  I hope others will know just the right person for them, too, because I've been accepted into a juried craft fair/fund raiser in November!

I think I got it at Fabric Depot or Mill End Store in Portland, Oregon.  Fabric Depot has a web store, Mill End doesn't.  It's an Alexander Henry print called "the great outdoors" [their lack of capital letters] and according to the selvage it's a 2000 design. And yeah, what is it about firemen?   Wink

RAAR grr ugggh!

Do you have to use a certain kind of thread and batting or whatever to make them heat resistant? What is inside?

I really want to try to make some.

I eat these!

Thanks!  I back them with this stuff: http://www.jamesthompson.com/products/fabrics/view/Therma-Flec which is scorch proof to 390 degrees and I add a layer of 80% cotton batting between.  I've made several w/o the layer between and haven't been burned or nearly burned and those I've given them to haven't complained.  One recipient even did a little test and said it was fine.  I think it's the Insulbrite brand that recommends using an extra layer, so I thought I would - better safe than sued.  Wink
