Many years ago I was an undergrad in England, and I had a very close group of 6 friends. This was in the early 90's and we are still all very close. About 3 years ago after grad school I moved to Minnesota and made friends with a colleague, who was the first person i met here. We travelled together to a conference and had a blast, she even came with me to get a tattoo.
2 years ago, one of my English friends was getting married, and I invited my MN friend to come along. She was wanting to travel to Europe, and I knew she would get along with my friends. The wedding involved renting a gorgeous country house in Devon, where we all stayed for 5 days, it was incredibly fun. During the course of that week my MN friend fell in love with the best man, one of my college friends, and now he is in MN and they are getting married in Oct. It's all so romantic and fun, and I am so excited that my old friend is now unexpectedly living here!
That was a long back story, but I just had to share. He arrived 3 days ago and their engagement party was last night. I am thrilled that he has asked me to be his "Best Man"!! So, as such, I figured it was my duty to procure some booze and porn. I think that the bride's guy friends and rellies will take him out, and he had a stag night or 2 before he left the UK, so instead I made him a "bachelor party in a box"!

Instead of a box, I got a globe from Goodwill and broke it in half, added hearts near Yorkshire and Minnesota, and a paper airplane:

Then I added pinups to the inside (focused on popular MN activities like ice fishing and biking)

Inside I put a small bottle of Jim Beam, a vintage nudie glass, an awesome orgy tile from Lusterbunny (who is a craftster member, etsy seller, and generally fabulous), a 1972 soft porn dvd called Au Pair Girls (in which 4 girls go to England to be Au Pairs and somehow keep losing their clothes), and some rice krispy boobs (with hershey kiss candy nipples). I hope he loves it!  Cheesy

Thanks! I could've made it more elaborate, but he arrived on Thursday, asked me on Friday, and the party was Saturday! I was pretty happy considering how quickly I put it together.  Smiley

i'm super impressed that you managed that much in that little time!

i would have been roaming my house looking for a box at the last minute, much less going to goodwill, breaking it in half, and decorating it!

I love the boob krispie treats, that is very clever.  I also love the use of the globe to put everything in.  It's such a nice touch
