Wow.  That's a fantastic do-over.  I love the painted tiles and all of the colours you chose.  It looks so wonderful and cozy and kitcheny now!

Considering you still have the old cabinets you were able to make this room look completely different.. I am thinking about painting my cabinets.. But I am nervous. LOL.

You did a really fabulous job. I agree that the valance doesn't really go. I would just take it down so you don't break up the lines from the window. If anything put something small over the window, even some sort of art that recreates the squares in the tiles or something would flow a lot better with the lines in the room.

It looks really nice. The colors are great, and the kitchen is so bright and modern now. As for the valance, how about some curtians that you can tie on the sides?
