This is a purse I made for my 15 year old sister a couple of years back.  She wanted a white purse, but she didn't want it too plain.  She chose the lining fabric.  I scanned one of the flowers on the fabric and used a digitizer to create an embroidery design from it.  Got some thread that matched the lining and stitched it on the white outer fabric.  It's from a Simplicity pattern, if I remember correctly.

Wow, I love the idea of scanning the lining fabric to make an embroidery motif!  Classy!

did you use some heavy duty interfacing to keep it's cool shape?

I used Click n Stitch to digitize the embroidery.  Used Photoshop to extract the flower pattern from the rest of the lining fabric.  And yes, I got really heavy interfacing!  I used sew in interfacing and it worked really well.  I managed to have it done before our family vacation to Hawaii and my mom was actually the one who used it the most!  It's the perfect size to fit her book and wallet, she said.  Smiley
