Ok, and now that I'm paying attention, I can't even figure out what they're advertising.  I've seen two others, one asks if I want to live in the US, and the other looks like an MSN Messenger window with someone named Holly.

In fact, there's one on this page now as I'm typing this.  It's about living in the US again, but it's different from the one I saw before.  It says "(copyright symbol) DSNR MEDIA GROUP" at the bottom of it.

wow, that flashing yield sign is super ANNOYING and very distracting. i've been trying to follow a tutorial and i can barely concentrate with that thing flashing away both in the top right corner and/or along the left sidebar (on my mac).

I don't know if it's a legitimate ad or not, but I find the ones that try to trick people into thinking they have a message or may have won something pretty annoying.

I totally agree - this ad seems to be below craftster standards; to me anyway.

Is anyone else fed-up with the Vimax ads? I find them somewhat offensive; they are derogatory towards women and men alike (IMO), and that being said - is this really the appropriate venue for them? Wouldn't the Vimax company make more sales by advertising on websites that emphasize more stereotypically male interests?

I haven't seen them but if you can get more information on them we can get them blocked.  That's definitely ick-tastic.  I think Leah needs to know what website they go to (you can just mouse-over, not click).

Ok, this is... weird.  I've NEVER seen these ads on my computer, but I just went to use my BF's comp and EVERY SINGLE THREAD that I opened had these ads.  I'm still doing some digging but there seems to be some grumblings about malware.... I'll try to get to the bottom of this and let you know

One suggestion seems to be updating Flash.

At the very least, update the Flash Player software on your system to the latest version (9.0.124.0 or higher). In the last three months, Adobe has patched a number of security holes in this product. The update won't protect you from all buggy Flash files on the Web, but it will make your browsing much safer.

You can download the latest Adobe Flash Player from the Adobe Web site.

After you install the update, run the free Secunia Software Inspector online malware scanner to find old versions of the Flash Player that may have been left behind on your system. Secunia's on-screen report will show the path and filename of the old files you need to delete. You may have to run the inspector more than once to make sure all the old files are deleted. If you delete a needed file by mistake, simply run the newest Flash Player installer again to correct the problem.

One danger posed by Flash bugs is the ability of hackers to get your login credentials for a given site. Andre Gironda recommends creating multiple Firefox profiles, each with its own NoScript (or, if you prefer, Flashblock) settings. He uses his Flash-enabled profile to browse sites such as YouTube, but he exits that browser and launches his Flash- and script-blocked copy of Firefox when he conducts online banking and visits other sites that require logins.

I'm gonna wait 'til "mr.jungrrl" ( he'll love that) gets home before I try this option.  He's very... protective of his computer.    I'll let you know what happens!
