Lil' dragon & cute hippo. 1st posted project!

Hello everyone!

Finally, I decided the day had come for me to contribute after a very long time of just looking around and being nurtured by everybody's creativity. (Though, officially, I only joined recently, and I guess I have contributed in a non-crafty way with the Spanish dictionary.)

Moving on to more interesting matters, here's my little dragon:

And then a friend made me realize a dragon is not a dragon without wings!

The day my boyfriend discovered him among my things, he said it was his favorite out of all the ones I've made and adopted him.

Little hippo here is the only ami I've made that hasn't found a better home yet. It'll probably go to one of two friends who haven't got one yet.

Yeah, making amigurumi made me want to crochet more than ever. I always preferred knitting, but making these cute little things makes the hook totally worth it. I first got into it when I bought Ana Paula Rimoli's book Amigurumi World: Seriously Cute Crochet. But there are tons of free patterns online.

I know! It's just that it's only a baby. Eventually, it will grow and become fearsome. What a pity.

Oh, how I want to learn how to crochet. I try a little bit at a time, get frustrated and stop, but it's projects like this that really make me want to try again. These guys are soooo cute. And I love dragons so much. It's really cool how you added the wings from another pattern too.
