I went as the Black Dahlia, unsolved murder victim Elizabeth Short

I got inspired by Elizabeth128 last year. Sorry for the picture quality...They were all taken with the timer function while my camera perched on the TV.

Details are here.

I went as a pull string doll!!!

With real working pull string!

And a matching doll!

I also had a little voice recorder thing (the kind you put in teddy bears when you make them) and I changed my sayings all night!

This is my bf and I this halloween. Unfortunately I was waaaay too busy with school to do my original idea (goldfish), but somehow I managed to make this red corset and his hobbit cloak. (I'm a Burlesque dancer, and I don't have a full shot but I didn't make the skirt anyway)

iamdolleyes: That is a super-cool Anubis costume! I just may steal that idea for next year, if you don't mind... .

I was an owl this year.  The mask I found and printed from the internet.  The wings are painted cardboard with feathers from a boa glued on, as is the tail.  The chest feathers are a boa sewed onto a velvet tank top. The hair combs have boa feathers glued on. I took magenta and purple watercolor paints to the feathers and painted them with a toothbrush.

The pic is blurry, but its the best one of the night with both of us.

Neither of our costumes are super crafty, but they are all thrifted.  I cut out and sewed the letters on his sweater and made the corsett-thinger.

People didn't really know who I was unless I was standing next to him, but he looked amazing.  Better in person than in the pic.

your friends ask about me you say I can be found
with the cheap romance novels with their spines battered down
oh the heart has no bones you say so it wont break
but the purpose of loving is the pounding it takes

my 10 year old's old-skool GameBoy Color costume!!
that is the Guitar Hero 4 box (bout 3 1/2 feet tall) wrapped in aqua duct tape, with arm and head holes cut out.
all the smaller shapes and letters were cranked out on my Cricut, but the whole screen part was freehand (even all those screwy Tetris pieces, i haven't played Tetris since halloween, sheesh)
