My totally uninspiring Mrs. Lovett Costume from my friend's Halloween in August Party.
I went as Edie Sedgwick this Halloween, but none of that was made, it was just assembled. All of this was made from scratch or altered thrifted clothes.

We had Jabba's at our party, too! There were lots of Jazz Hands that night. My husband and I were Bavarians, too! It's the first time we have worn assembled costumes rather than crafted costumes, but these are authentic so I don't feel so bad. At least I had to glue the feather to his hat!

Under the sea theme i was an octopus, which i was very pleased with.

but the best we saw by far were these sea horses - I DID NOT MAKE THESE SEAHORSES - but thought they might give ppl ideas for the future..

they were held on by bike helmets and back packs and made of paper mache and wire

Here's the cape I made for my daughter (who was a super version of herself) for her first Halloween. I got the basic idea from here: http://www.instructables.com/id/How_to_make_a_superhero_cape/
I did not make a pattern though.
