Hello, everyone!

So my father decided over the weekend to be a statue for Halloween, and my mother decided that if that's the case she'd have to go as a pigeon.  So far the materials we have are grey sweatpants and sweatshirt (oversized to stuff the top since pigeons have that kinda puffy chest going on), pink/orange tights and legwarmers plus foam to make feet, some large feathers for a tail, and a bunch of feather boas for the rest.

The large feathers would've been ideal for the rest of the costume, but they're too expensive to get a lot of them, so we're stuck with making the feather boas work for us.  Our main challenge is getting them to kind of lay flat instead of being totally fluffy - does anyone have any ideas/suggestions/experiences to share?

Thanks in advance for any ideas or encouragement!
