Is there any way to get the Halloween section of Occasions/Holidays divided into two boards? Ideally, Costumes or Crafts. I want to view halloween crafts but there are sooooooo many costume posts to sort through.
Thanks!

i second the motion!  i too went looking for Halloween crafts and had to wade through a buttload of costumes.  not that i have a problem with costumes, there are some awesome costumes, but it just wasn't what i wanted to look at at the moment.

I would like to recommend we consider giving Halloween costumes its own board.  Each year the number of fab costumes seems to grow. To facilitate browsing and to showcase costume making as a partcular craft, a board dedicated to Halloween costumes and dicussions about costume making would be a benefit to our forum.  ...IMHO : )
What do you guys think?

Thanks for the input! There are actually 2 costume boards under the clothing section: one for completed projects and one for D&Q. Great minds think alike, eh? Check them out!

I was under the impression that the Clothing:Costumes boards are for non-Hallowe'en costumes only, giving a link to the Hallowe'en board underneath the board title.

I think a sub-forum within Hallowe'en for Hallowe'en Costumes is a good idea, one I was muttering to myself about last year Tongue I agree that it would facilitate better browsing, as those looking for Hallowe'en-y housewares and decorations wouldn't have to wade through costume posts and vice-versa.

Either way, likely not something that could be implemented in time for this Hallowe'en.

Alexus1325 - that was exactly what I was thinking of when I posted this.  I love looking at costumes, when that's what I'm into, but when I'm looking for props, housewares, party stuff I feel I have to wade through the costumes.  If the Costume board were adequate people would post their costumes and costume discussions there, but it's such a particular subject Halloween costumes.  I really believe they deserve their own board here.
Anyway, just a thought on user-friendliness from a (frequent Smiley )user.

I moved this thread over to Suggest New Boards and New Features, so it's not lost in the shuffle of Halloween! Smiley

We love this idea. Smiley  It will be a great way to give parties, decor, etc. their much-deserved spotlight, too.  We'll be implementing this shortly!

Hi, all!  Just wanted to give you an update on your suggestion. Smiley

We've officially divided Halloween into two boards for you! Smiley  Now, if you view OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS, you will see two "child boards" (sub-boards) underneath Halloween:

Halloween Costumes (Halloween costume ideas and completed projects.)
Halloween Decor and Parties (Halloween food, decorations, party ideas and pumpkins!)

We're still doing a bit of clean up, such as repairing broken images, updating titles, etc., but the majority of the completed projects should be in their shiny new homes now. Smiley  Keep an eye out for featured projects and special blogs for the upcoming holiday!

Thanks again for the board suggestion!

I noticed this a couple days ago when I was checking out Hottest New Topics!  I have to admit, I felt pretty cool having contributed in such a way to my favorite place to dodge work -I mean, to enrich myself - these last... (I don't even know how many.!) years.    Cool
I really like the way it came off, and I know how much background work you guys had to do for this change.  Well done.  I hope other people like it too. Kudos again to craftster for responding to customer needs.  Just another reason I love this forum.  <3
