If you've ever seen those cooling bandanas with the water retaining gel inside, then you know where I got the general idea from. 

They work SO well, but I thought they could do with a bit of a fashion revamp.  Something a little more feminine.  So I had a play with some fabric, and this is what I came up with.

I figured since we are having a rare hot summer day here in Cambridgeshire, I would share it here, in case you're having good weather too, and need a project like this.   Wink




As you can see, it doesn't look like much when you first put it in to soak.  (Excuse the chips - I don't think I own a bowl without a chip in it!)


But it soon swells up to full "beady glory"!


And if these beads are a little big, and you want one to double round....
