anyone want to give me the scoop on the best fabric stores? I like CHEAP prices but good quality. City and street would be nice. I just moved here and don't know my way around to well...yet. Thanks!

i dont know what island you are on, but when i lived there i went to fabric mart, i lived in kaneohe on oahu.  they have a website, i think its fabricmart.com, but im not sure.  check the phone book.   anyways, fabric mart was on kamehameha hwy in kaneohe, dont remember the address but it was right by the honda dealership.

go and check em out, thats really the only way to compare prices.  i am no longer on the island, so i can't help you with that.  but thats part of the fun anyways, exploring new crafting places, and seeing what you can find.  i love finding deals.  but now i drive to LA to do it, they have the best bargains there.  sry, good luck

For selection, quality, and price, I hit Fabric Mart.  The Honolulu location (1631 Kalakaua, 947-4466) is very popular with tourists and is close to Waikiki, so they stock a lot of tropical prints.  Be sure to check out the remnants shelves upstairs!  The Aiea location is similar, in a more warehouse setting (98-023 Hekaha St, 488-8882).  I've never been to the location in Kaneohe (45-681 Kamehameha Hwy, 234-6604).

Another cheap option - the thrift stores.  Savers, in particular (I go to the Kalihi location), will have a rack of assorted fabrics.

thanks for the tip. I will try Savers. I had a fabric Mart on the Big Island and it was ok. I'm not too into tropical.

They have a lot more than just the tropical print stuff.  There's some thin, suede-like fabric there that I've been fondling.

I go to Walmart...haha!

Their selection sucks royally, but they have alot of good basic materials and colors, so you mat want to check out there. Their scrap fabric is good as well...it is nice and cheap, so if you need extra fabric for whatever reason, I would suggest seriously hitting the bargan bin in the fabric dept.
