Hi all! As a kid in Chicago apartments, I remember my mom crocheting tubes that she'd stuff with something and sit in our windowsills to keep cold out. Now, I live in a rural area of China and don't have heating. I'd sure like to make some myself! I know how to crochet, but does anyone have a pattern or even know what I'm talking about? I have very vague memories of this.

Thanks!

If you know how to crochet, it would be easy to make a pattern for yourself.  Just measure the length you need of the window, crochet a circle the size you want the pillow to be around, then crochet a rectangle to match the circle.  Stuff with fiberfill, quilt batting, or whatever you have, and there you have a pillow.  My mom used to make them for the back of the couch, for our beds, etc.  Good luck

I think they are sometimes called draft dodgers.  A google search for "draft dodger crochet" yields some cute ones, including this wiener dog: http://crochet.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ/Ya&sdn=crochet&cdn=hobbies&tm=7&gps=484_686_1436_676&f=22&su=p445.92.150.ip_&tt=14&bt=1&bts=0&zu=http%3A//www.sarahanns.com/crochetworks/dawg.html

Good luck with your project!

That's the name! Draft dodgers. I'll go search it (couldn't get the link to work?)
