Sorry, I'm useless, and I forgot to take photos before I started the recon. The top I was using was just a brown long-sleeved t-shirt with a design on the front. I had it when I was younger, but grew out of it. I just found it again and I thought it was a beautiful image.

I cut off the sleeves, and cut a square neckline (it was really high-necked before). I put a grey marl strip around the bottom, and added a hood in the same fabric, and lined with a tartan-ish brown fabric.

The text says "la belle femme" (You can't see it very well on the godawful indoor-light photos).

Honestly, I don't really like it Sad I didn't really know what I was doing with the hood, so as you can tell, it turned out too long - but it's too small from front to back really, so it doesn't look great when I wear it up either. Also, the sewing is messy in some places (I'm new to sewing as well as reconstructing, I've only made two garments before). Ah well, it all goes down to experience.

I like it! I think it was very creative. The hood is long, but I like it.

(which means the colors, light, and poses are very flattering  Wink ) Love the recon -nice collection of colors and textures!

I like the idea very  much - if you aren't happy with it, maybe you can redo it in the future.  I think it looks good on you!   Smiley

You may not be totally pleased but don't get rid of the shirt. I suggest you hang it in the back of your closet. Then in a while when you feel more confident, remove the hood and find another shirt(or fabric) in the same color. Make a new hood using one of your favorite hoodies as a template. And remove all the stitching you didn't like. Then re-do it.
I've done this with some of my "failures" and it's so nice to know that one thing isn't nagging you and is something to be proud of.
I personally think you should take some pride in what you've done right now though. Pat yourself on the back for finishing something. making it fit your body, and it being something you loved. That is something to be proud of. The style is super cute and you did a great job. We're all perfectionists when it comes to our own work. Smiley

I think it looks lovely. I love the colours, and the long hood is really unique. You look stunning.

Thank you everyone Smiley

And thanks Eliea for your advice. I think I will do that, because I do like the shirt I made it from. ^_^
