This is the first time I have posted pictures of my work. Usually I work with beads and wire, but I made this piece for DanniQuee as an extra for the Vintage Halloween swap. I love steampunk, but this is my first time making anything in that style. The hardest part was figuring out how to join the pieces, I ended up using 3 different kinds of epoxy. I think next I'm going to do some sort of insect, maybe a scarab or a dragonfly-any suggestions? Comments and constructive criticism please! (and sorry about the photo quality...)

It's nice to see someone do something different with that octopus! I love the little gears down his tentacles, and the camera film winder (?) in the "background" is cool. I'm not sure about the gear eyes. I think something more eye-like in its function (such as little LED bulbs or the light sensor or lenses out of the camera, though I don't know how big this guy is, lenses might be a bit large... but you get the idea) might have worked a bit better. All in all he's pretty darn cool Cheesy

To be honest, I'm not normally a fan of steampunk stuff.  I mean, I think it looks neat, but it's not my style.

But this totally rocks!  I love how you've embellished it.  Very very cool.  Smiley

Hey, that looks familiar! Wink

I LOVE it. I love how you attached all the little gears to the suckers on his tentacles. You must have infinite patience, or at least, way more than I do! Cheesy

I'd love to see you do a steampunk dragonfly. I bet you could do some really cool things with the wings and tail.
