I knit this jacket after my mother had bought the (quit pricy) kit, containing the yarn and the pattern. So the end product was for my mother, but I got to do the fun part: the knitting.
Of course it was hard to say goodbye yesterday, after putting so many hours in this project and being so happy with the result, but my mom was pretty happy with it, and of course it was her size and not mine so it looked much nicer on her than it did on me.

This pattern is PlissÚ by Danish designer Hanne Falkenberg and the yarn is her own brand too, No. 2 Shetland in the colour Magpie, kind of dark blue with black and green dyed on the fiber, so in the plies are several very subtle shades. It's hard to explain, but the result is so deep and rich in colour, I love it.
I'm eager to hear your opinion of this jacket!
It's also on Ravelry, for those interested.

Wow!  You put a lot of work into this.  I think knitting is a great way to show your love for your mom.

Where can someone buy this kit?  Was it ordered from a website or from a LYS?

Thanks for the nice feedback, you are very sweet.

And to sapphireblue: I bought it in one of the few nice Yarn Shops in The Netherlands, Ribbels, but here's an online shop that sells this particular kit, along with loads of others. They're located in the UK.
This is Hanne's own website where you can look at virtually every pattern in every colorscheme she has.
